Self-awareness is not just about identifying what you need, or doing more self care or loving yourself which sometimes can often be quite surface level awareness.

Self-awareness is not just about identifying what you need, or doing more self care or loving yourself which sometimes can often be quite surface level awareness. To be deeply self aware its important you find out what bought on a certain emotion or feeling.

Use emotions as data to start exploring the beliefs, thoughts and internal dialogue that underpin the emotions you feel- What are they signalling?

How can you do this?

Get curious and without judgement, identify whats really happening for you 

  • Is your anger because your husband doesn’t listen or do you feel disrespected and unheard? 

  • Are you upset because your parents didn’t acknowledge an achievement or is it because you felt unloved and unaccepted?

  • Do you feel frustrated because you didn’t reach your goal or do you feel like a failure and powerless to change the outcome?

  • Are you annoyed that a friend stopped responding to your messages or did you feel rejected and unimportant when they ignored you?

     

    Once you identify the real reason underpinning why you experience a certain emotion, that’s when you begin the real inner work. Doing the inner work to be more regulated, to become more resilient and manage your mental, emotional and spiritual state is what REAL self-care is.

     

    When you gift yourself these skills, you break cycles and create the ripple effect to change generations.
